Welcome to the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Lansing!

Each Sunday morning at the Vineyard you will have an opportunity to know the presence of Jesus through the contemporary music and practical messages. We are informal, relaxed and relationally oriented.

Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Lansing is the result of a vision whose inception started in 1980. The church was planted that year by Pastor Ed Reynolds after finishing his Master’s Degree in Theology at a school in California. As a fledgling church we met at various places around the local area and moved to our present location at Jolly and Hagadorn in 1994. After having occupied the 2nd floor of the building for the previous 8 years, in 2004 we took a leap of faith and purchased the entire ‘Big Red Barn’ complex. We then renovated the downstairs and now meet there.

Our church represents so much more than a place to meet on Sunday mornings. Small Groups meet throughout the week and our programs include specific women & men’s fellowship groups, activities, retreats, children’s ministry (with Sunday school for toddlers through middle school). But most of all, VCF Lansing is a community of people & faith where we share a common, central faith in Jesus Christ with a love for God and a desire to grow spiritually that we might more effectively serve Him.

What’s a Sunday Morning Like?

Please feel free to dress casually.  At 10 AM, many people are talking with friends, enjoying a cup of coffee. Kids are playing. Some people are sitting quietly waiting for the service to begin. We start with worship music. The worship team will have a keyboard, 2-3 vocalists, 1-2 guitars, bass, drums, etc. Sometimes worship is fast and vibrant, other times it is more introspective. Always, the focus is to draw us closer to God, our Creator and Redeemer.

Around 10:30 AM, the music ends, and we have a time for prayer, announcements, and releasing the kids to Sunday school. The pastor will speak for about 30 minutes (informally- no fancy podium, and definitely no robes!). We’ll close with prayer, a song, and ministry time is available if you need specific prayer. Service is usually over by 11:30 AM, but people often hang around talking for a while after the service. Coffee, tea & snacks are available before & after the service.

At Vineyard, in addition to discovering more at our Sunday service, we can help you in your searching and questioning.  You can connect with someone from the Vineyard to help you work though some of your tough questions.  A variety of resources are available, from books, tapes and videos to a variety of small group activities.  But in the end, discovering who God is, and who we are in relationship to God, is the result of developing a personal relationship with Christ.
